The PAC of GROW is holding an event for grades K – 9 on Monday April 24th.  Note that this is not a GROW sponsored event, and as such Parents/Guardians must remain in attendance during the event.  The tentative agenda is:

  1. 9:45 a.m.   Arrive at RCMP Detachment in 100 Mile House (841 Alder Ave).  To see its location, click here.
  2. 10 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Welcome/Ice-Breakers & Tour of the RCMP Detachment Centre (including a look inside a cruiser car & conversation about what an officer wears on their body).
  3. 11 a.m.-12:50 p.m.  Meet at Centennial Park  (2 minute drive from the RCMP detachment).  To see its location map, click here.   Hike up to waterfalls (45 minutes there & back).  Will be accompanied by Mr. Martin Kruus, an educator from Scout Island whom we've had the pleasure of learning from before.  Mr. Kruus will share with students many tidbits of natural science along the hike.  Lunch will be put out at noon, and students can enjoy the playground in Centennial Park.
  4. 1:00 p.m. - 2:50 p.m. Meet at 108 Mile Ranch Heritage site parking lot just off the highway.  To see its location, click here.   With Martin from Scout Island students will engage in educational learning points as they explore the Mile 108 Heritage Site and surrounding area.
  5. 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. Gym Time at 108 Elementary School (4958 Easzee Dr.). Sponsored by GROW.  To see its location, click here.

Finally, Snacks and Lunch will be provided by the PAC, but you need to bring a Water Bottle.   Finally, you do not need to pre-enroll for these sessions, and you can attend some of the sessions with no obligation to attend all.
