The PAC of GROW is sponsoring a Day at Gavin Lake Forest Education Centre (Thursday, June 1st from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
This is a PAC sponsored event and as such parents must remain in attendance for the entire event. Lunch/snacks will be provided by the PAC throughout the day. The activities include wall climbing, archery, hiking, canoeing, swimming (if weather permits), and spending time together! Free for all GROW families.
What to Bring?
Water bottle, hat/sunscreen, bug spray/clothes appropriate for weather and outdoor activities and a bathing suit and towel (weather permitting and if you desire to engage in the swimming activity).
Parents will be asked to sign a waiver form from Gavin Lake upon arrival detailing the scheduling of activities and risks involved.
Driving Directions:
From the South
Turn east (right) at 150 Mile House onto the Likely Road (150 Mile House is 14 km south-east of Williams Lake on Highway 97). After 4 km, turn left onto the Likely Road where it forks with the Horsefly Road and follow it for 44 km. The Gavin Lake Road is on the right and is marked by the Gavin Lake Forest Education Centre and UBC/Alex Fraser Research Forest signs.
From the North
Turn east off of Highway 97 at McLease Lake (approximately 45 km north of Williams Lake) onto Beaver Lake Road, and continue for 3.3 km. Turn right onto the gravel portion of Beaver Lake Road. Follow this route until it meets the Likely Road (approximately 35 km). Turn north (left) and drive for 6.7 km on the Likely Road. The Gavin Lake Road is on the right and is marked by the Gavin Lake Forest Education Centre and UBC/Alex Fraser Research Forest signs.
