All parents/guardians and students must attend a mandatory online Teams Meeting on Monday February 6th at 11:00 am (all Students and Parents have been sent the meeting link for Monday’s Meeting and the link is below in this web page) to review the stipulations of this high-risk activity (failure to attend the meeting means that the child cannot attend the event).
GROW is sponsoring a Ski / Snow Board / Snow Shoe Trip to Mount Timothy Recreation Resort on Thursday February 9th. There are many details to the trip which is considered a high-risk event.
The highlights include:
- Both registration forms (please see below) must be back to (virginia.ivey@sd27.bc.ca) by Monday January 30th to attend the event (Mount Timothy needs the information to arrange their equipment rental and staff). Note that the Snow Shoe form is only used if you are snow shoeing.
- Parents/Guardians must drive their child or children to the ski hill.
- Legally, parents cannot carpool to the ski hill.
- All parents/guardians and students must attend a mandatory online Teams Meeting on Monday February 6th to review the stipulations of this high-risk activity (failure to attend the meeting means that the child cannot attend the event).
- Parents/chaperones must accompany their child(ren) on the ski hill.
- Two GROW Staff members will be at the ski hill.
- All students must take a ski lesson for either ski or snow board (Beginner, Novice, Intermediate).
- Students cannot exchange their rented skis for snow boards or vice versa during the event (no flipping).
- GROW will pay for the student lessons.
- The GROW PAC will be paying for student lift passes and the adult parent/chaperone lift passes.
- If rental of equipment is required, parents/guardians must pay for the rental.
- Helmets are mandatory for all students.
- Students will need to bring appropriate clothing, lunch, and refreshments.
- There is a cafeteria at the Resort that will be open.
- GROW PAC will have snacks available for students throughout the event.
